WORDS: 945. | TAG: @open | NOTES: weeee
the last few months of being sucked dry by delilah was nothing compared to the last few days filled with emotions. perhaps if she'd still been feeding from him, she would have had a good meal. luckily enough, he'd managed to break free and that was all thanks to lochlan. well, and holly...of whom he was still mad at. it started a few days ago when holly woke him up in the middle of the night, well actually early morning, to let him know that she had spilled the beans. all the years of incredibly personal secrets, ones that he'd voiced to no one but her about lochlan, had been told to the very person they were about. in the moment she admitted her guilt, his heart sunk to the floor, unsure of what to think. he was mad and scared, fearful that his brother would think him a disgusting freak for having the thoughts he did. what made it worse was the fact that he didn't even have time to process this revelation of this news...because holly had drug lochlan right there for them to hash the shit out. he felt like he was going to die in that moment.
but really, it felt good to get everything off his chest. fearful yet seeing no point in hiding it any longer, killian professed his true feelings for lochlan. though his brother was a vampire, ian was a wolf, meaning he'd found his mate. and if he couldn't be with him, he'd never truly settle for another. he'd never love another and he never had. luckily enough for him, lochlan had told him damn near the same thing. why killian was too stupid or blind to see it previously, one could only guess. regardless, they were good now. shit, they were better than good. they were free from secrets and boundaries, as displayed by that night they spent together. since then, they'd been practically inseparable...which in part, was loch helping ian to finally free his mind of delilah. that whole thing was going to be interesting when he announced he was leaving her for the second time. then again, he already suspected she'd been cheating on him.
killian woke to find his bed free from lochlan and while he was slightly disappointed, he chose to use this opportunity to make it down to ravenous to make an announcement to the club which had been failing in the absence of the band. he and loch had already talked about their revival and while he hadn't let max and gus in on the secret, he knew it wouldn't be an issue with them. shit, they'd been waiting on the battling twins. april was thrilled to see ian at the club and looking better[ish] and furthermore, with his acoustic guitar in hand. yeah, tonight was gonna be good.
as he stepped onto the stage, alone, a bright smile was plastered over his face, looking out onto the less-than-full crowd. regardless, he was happy to see a few loyal supporters. "so i know its just me here today...and i don't have the voice of a god like the queen bee...but i'm gonna sing a little song here. but before i do, i'd like to make the announcement that starting next friday, no description will be back." over the serious of cheers and whistles, ian sat on the stool on stage, propping the guitar against his knee as he began to strum out chords to one of their older songs. and then his voice broke through the air, soft and melodic, yet full of happiness. "You said it's okay. I said I'm happy. Come love me like you love me. Just one more time....My heart's a jungle, I escape in to the city lights. Dive into the colors. And it's alright, it's alright." he sang a few more versus before repeating the chorus over and over, finally ending the song as the clapping from the cloud ensued.
"The heart get no sleep, The heart get no sleep, The heart get no sleep." as the chords faded, ian stood with a smile, waving his appreciation to those watching the performance. "'member, friday at eight. be there...don't be squares." and with that, he jogged down the stage steps, feeling completely renewed. if he felt that good after a solo performance, he could only imagine what having the whole band together again would do for his mental health.
the lycan made his way to the booth at the back where a beer was already waiting for him, courtesy of april. he shuffled into the cushioned seat, taking a deep drink from the bottle before casting a glance around at the establishment. yeah, it was time to get his place pumping again...that was for sure. and shit, he was at least easing april's worries now. his mind wandered to holly momentarily, trying to think of a way to get back at her. sure, she ended up helping the situation overall, but he was still a little miffed at her. and then it hit him; he knew exactly what he was going to do! she was sick of agonizing over seeing lock and ian dance around while everyone else could see the obvious...it was the very same with she and gus. fuck it, he was gonna help her out and tell gus how holly really felt. after all, god knew she was never gonna make a move.
as he contemplated his idea, ian tilted his head back against the booth, simply enjoy the beat of the music that was playing. ahh yes, things were finally good.
