Iseline, Meeting, VIDAR BYSTROM & AKSEL BYSTROM
lyrics @ Lana Del Rey. notes – beep words - 860ish
In the Land of Gods and Monsters
I was an Angel
The beta of the Bystrom stirred in her bed as she was awaking from a long sleep, after going through an early delivery just hours ago. Sadly, Iseline had no knowledge that she was pregnant, when she went onto fight the war with the vampires, and she only found out when she was wounded in the stomach did she find out, and by the time she got back to Alcatraz it was too late to salvage the pup. Everyone could see it, Iseline was torn, she was broken, but she did not shed a tear, Vidar didn’t know what was happening, Aksel didn’t know either as they only saw that one of the most important woman in their lives was being carried away.
Iseline would go to war to with this man, if he would have ever allowed her to go on a raid with him all those thousands of years ago, she would have been much happier than she is now. The only reason why she didn’t get to go on raids as much as she used to in her Viking days was because she was pregnant with their first child, Hanna, but Iseline was a fighter and she was sure her baby was too and Iseline wasn’t going to let a simple pregnancy stop her from placing a blade into the heart of her enemies. Although, Vidar would have disagreed, which to this day, his kinaputt is a bit bitter. Hanna was their first child, before the curse, she was a beautiful little one who had the hair and fairness of her mother, but also had the intelligent eyes like her father. She was going to be a child that would have made an old shield woman proud, because she would have grown up with the confidence and strength of a shield woman probably would have surpassed her own mother in greatness. Soon after, Iseline gave birth to their second child, Aksel, he was so much like his father Iseline thought it was eerie. Everything Aksel did would mirror his father, so that means she would have had to slap him upside the head sometimes. Although you could tell he was her child still just by the way he looked, but his father’ genes carried mostly.
Vidar had a good reason not to let Iseline go onto raids, while pregnant because it would save Iseline from all the guilt of losing a child because she went to war. Guilt was overwhelming, it could kill, and it will ware on Iseline’s mind for as long as she lives because she will forever identify herself as the one who killed her child. Eventhough she didn’t know she was pregnant, she should have known better to really pay attention to herself, but the fact that she was about to fight a war that could change everything, she wanted to be at Vidar’s side, and not on the sidelines like she did all those years ago.
Iseline hasn’t had a moment with just her family, being Aksel and Vidar, especially since the loss of her baby, after the war she was in her bed with the shame of losing a child. Did Freyja curse her? Was she unable to bring Vidar the sons or daughters he deserved? What about Aksel? Could she not provide the sibling he could also love? All those thoughts came rushing into Iseline’s mind as she tried to get up from her bed, the feeling of worthlessness made her quite upset as she wanted to things for herself. Iseline slowly placed her feet on the cool floors, already she feel the pain throbbing still in her pelvis, and quickly some of her handmaidens came running to usher her back in bed that made the Queen Lycan snap, her eyes glowed their golden hues as a snarl escaped her, “LEAVE ME BE!” Her handmaidens backed away dutifully, keeping their heads low, and Iseline breathed in slowly as she brought her anger back under control, “I thank your help, but I must face this on my own. I have to at least walk with my own strength.” Truthfully, she doesn’t want to be worn down with the burden of failing to delivering the child of Vidar, she wanted to keep pushing even when she was too tired to even go one.
“You all may leave me.” Just like that, her handmaidens were trailing out her room to leave Iseline to herself, though she dared not cry. She was trying to keep herself strong because she had to, for the pack, for Vidar, and for herself. There was a war going on and she can’t just be sitting idly on the bed, she has to get back out there. Although, she doesn’t even know if Aksel or Vidar were back from fighting the damned vampire because she was hauled off the battlefield hours ago, and only just woken up.Living in the Garden
