━ AND ALL SHE WANTED, WAS SOMEONE THAT CARES ━She had been through so much over the centuries she has been alive. Not only had she changed but the world around her had as well. And while Helena loved experiencing the changing of the world, the difference of it all around her, a part of her wished to be back in her real home, to be back in Greece during the time period she had been alive. But that would never happen, but she knew with her sisters by her side that it didn’t matter. Now she helped people, hoped those that needed help in the love department. While she hadn’t fallen in love in years, much to her dismay, she only had herself to blame. After Antonio, she pushed all the male population away, not wanting to have a run in with darkness and once again turn against her sister like she had centuries prior to the current time period. Though there was one that had gotten past her barriers, she tried to push thoughts of him away from her mind, especially because of the darkness that leaked from his pores. Tate Blackwood, a man whose charm she had fallen for and subconsciously fallen into bed with. After him, she left, disappearing from her family and from the town in which she had met Tate. Her first love she had sent to hell and she didn’t want a repeat of that and Tate made her realize that. She couldn’t trust anyone, not even her heart, to protect her from falling towards the darkness once more.
That was why she traveled, traveled the world and helped those that she could. But it didn’t mean she could stay gone for long, and thus returned to her sisters not too long ago before they moved to San Francisco. With her abilities close at hand, including that of her empathy, she quickly landed herself a job within the San Francisco Chronicle, writing one of the best advice columns that anyone had read in years. People loved her, and she loved to help them.
The previous night she had gone out on a date, per the request of her boss for a column piece, and had a little run-in with an old flame. Or rather, an old one-night between the sheets. That was the old Helena and now she needed to stay away from Tate as much as possible. He was one of the reasons she disappeared to find herself, and when she came back she prayed that he would have disappeared from San Francisco. But that wasn’t the case, that would never be the case. She should have suspected that before she returned.
Her pen tapped against the piece of paper that sat next to her laptop, the coffee that she had purchased previously to sitting down placed gentle before her. She sighed. She hated this. Online dating had never been her thing; hell she wasn’t even a reporter. And yet, this was her task? She should be writing advice on how this will never work, on how people aren’t who they seem to be online, but yet she was writing about how it was supposedly good? She couldn’t lie, could she? People wanted her honest opinion…and a lie was not anywhere near that. She threw her pen down with a sigh, eyes moving to look around her.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -WITH NO PLACE TO GO, NO PLACE TO GO TO DRY HER EYES BROKEN INSIDE - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Being out in the cold weather could be a pain for some, though those people could always go home, turn on the heating or light a fire. That wasn't an option for Danica because she had no house to go home to. Every night finding a place to stay was a struggle for her. That in itself was dangerous, mix that with cold temperatures and illness could become a problem. Though Danica did have a good immune system and made sure to wrap up well enough. There was sometimes other homeless people under bridges, or in other area with fires lit in barrels. Homeless wasn't exactly a term that applied to Danica. She did a have home, her family home that she could theoretically go back to. Her category was more of on the run, though she had a house good enough to return to, it was out of fear and paranoia that she couldn't return. She'd not been thrown out or disowned, instead took it upon herself to leave without a word. Thus keeping her family safe, as she didn't want them getting involved in whatever this was.
With today's cold weather Danica had decided grabbing a hot beverage could be good. Not wanting to carry around her rucksack and duffel bag she found a place to hide the duffel bag. It was just a quick solution, hid it well enough until she returned. She didn't mind bringing her rucksack as it was smaller and what contained her money. Walking away from the hidden area she began down the street in search of a coffee shop. She wasn't looking for anything expensive, just a reasonable priced drink that would help warm her up. Her rucksack was on her back, one strap slung over her shoulder. Both her arms wrapped around her torso, moving up and down slightly to try and keep herself warm. All she could do was hope that tonight the temperatures would rise, or that she found somewhere indoors to kip for the night. Finally after walking for awhile she found a coffee shop she thought was good enough. Pushing the door she stepped inside and was hit with the warmth of the room, that already helping heat her up.
She took notice of the few customers as she made her way to the counter. "Can I've a coffee with milk and two sugars please" she asked, trying to bring a light smile to her face. Slinging the rucksack off her shoulder she opened the zip and took out the money before handing it across the counter. Once the coffee was handed to her she made her way to an empty table and took a seat, the bag in the chair beside her. She wrapped her hands around the coffee as she brought it up to take a well needed sip. Putting the drink down she reached over to close her bag when she noticed something sticking out. Curious she removed it and her eyes landed on a picture that must have slipped from her photos album. Immediately she froze when she saw what the image was, one of her and her ex. The very guy she was running from, the fear of him was quickly placed back in her at the sight of the picture. Exhaling shakily she quickly ripped up the image into small pieces before leaving the pile on the table, her eyes fixated on the pile for a moment.
