The chains set to break your soul. Day by day
You know the choice you have to make
Freeze up and fade
Or be the flame that lights the way
You know the choice you have to make
Freeze up and fade
Or be the flame that lights the way
Morning was upon the station, and Faith had just emerged. A cup of black coffee in one hand, and his other was free. Automatically, he sipped on the obsidian colored liquid. It slithered down his throat, and he released a content sigh. Everything in his life, had taken a turn in the right direction. He was finally learning to accept the wolf, and accept that it was now a serious part of himself. He could balance both the mortal, and supernatural worlds. Not hesitating to unleash the wolf, when needed. He found freedom, from running underneath the full moon. A beauty, that he’d denied himself for so long. Also having Charity, back into his life made things easier-- more enjoyable. Outside of Ava and Thero. Charity was an extremely important part of his past. Definitely something that mattered. He held no secrets with her. As he motioned toward his desk, he glanced around. It was a silent morning, not much action going on.
Already, he could see the amount of paper work that had crossed his desk. He sighed softly, and sat down. Taking another sip of his coffee, trying to find a moment of peace amongst his job. In truth, he loved doing what he did. Being a man of the law, meant enforcing it. It also allowed for him to help people in need. He glanced around his desk. Another missing person’s case had reached him. The last person that he had found, had been mauled by a rouge lycan. It looked like an animal attack, but the smell was familiar. He knew the scent of another lycan. The media had reported on it, and Faith had lied. He couldn’t come out in the open, and say what it really was. The war between the factions, had lead to an uneasy tension amongst the species. It bothered Faith, to no ends. Mortals, were just getting in the way. Innocent lives got caught in the crossfire. He was directly involved in the war, but this was his city after all. Nobody was above the law, and those laws would be enforced. One way or another.
He placed the cup of coffee on his desk. Turned his eyes to the paper work. He sorted through it all, but his mind kept wondering off from the task. He thought about Charity, now that she was currently staying with him. His heart ached for her. She represented everything that he had lost. A fundamental component to his entire existence. To think that the Order of Light back in Russia had fallen. The men and women that made up the Order, had dedicated their lives to both God, and the extermination of the other species. Faith, now questioned god. He questioned his entire outlook on life. Even though he carried a wooden crucifix, it was the only attachment to the past. It had been fate, that Charity and Faith had been reunited. He could talk with Charity, tell her about his travels, and accomplishments.
Faith had undergone a great deal. He’d gone from a stubborn youth, to a magnificent warrior of the peace. He didn’t kill like he use too. Instead, he used the wolf like a tool. He thought back, to the attack that determined his entire existence. The wolf that had turned him, had actually given him much more. Rather then live life in exile, Faith carved out a life for himself. All those around him were gone. His family, dead. Being mortal had its limitations. However, being immortal, brought with in complications. Faith had traveled from one place to another. Before joining the police force nearly ten years ago. Faith was a rouge werewolf. Killing each full moon, he’d had more then his fair share of blood on his hands, for when the wolf took over. He tried to repent for his carelessness, but now he would take safety precautions, to instill that nobody got caught in the crossfire.
At some point, Charity was suppose to visit today. She was a rarity, being able to walk in the sunlight, unlike most vampires. He had a strong relationship with her. A bond that escaped the ages. They had always been there for each other. A friendship, as deep as time it’s self, that in transcended time. Even though they had been away from each other for so long, they picked up off were they had left off. She would help him during his transformation. Bring food, water, and clothing for when he underwent the transformation into his wolf form. It helped, knowing that someone else could be there for him. Someone else knew his secret. In return, Faith was able to protect the women that he loved. He was certain that Charity, knew how much he cared about her. A vampire and lycan, they made a very interesting pair. Most would shun such an act and relationship. After all, the current war was between the lycans and vampires. As he thought about the past, he sighed and took another sip of coffee. Truly, he was free. Free from all the concerns that plagued mortals. Even though he predominantly worked with mortals. Faith saw the good in people, and tried to bring that goodness out. He sought to inspire others, and rouse their spirits.
