━ SHE WEARS STRENGTH AND DARKNESS EQUALLY WELL, THE GIRL HAS ALWAYS BEEN HALF GODDESS, HALF HELL. ━
Sitting in the local coffee shop waiting for her best friend Mason to show up was not how she imagined her Saturday morning. She thought it would be different, thought Mason would have shown up before her and ordered their favorite coffee and cookies. But no, she was the first one to show up. Actually on time for once, much to her surprise. The idea of Mason not being here waiting for her was something of a shock, but she didn’t question it. Of course, she sent him a quick text asking where his ass was, jokingly of course, and yet got no reply. Twenty minutes passed and still nothing, instead, she was left to sit there with two mugs of cold coffee and a completely hard scone, as she drew neatly upon her sketch pad.
It was something for the comic that she and Mason thought of drawing a long time ago, but sadly had never gotten around to writing it. However, it never stopped Alyssa from drawing within her perfect sketch book, the monsters, and creatures they thought of from their own memory. But today, instead she was sketching each of her friends standing before a massive fire. A dream she had the night before. They were drawn perfectly, their faces a mask of nothing as she slowly sketched in the eyes of Deon. His eyes were intense, staring at the fire as if he had started it. As she drew, she remembered the dream more vividly, remembering the nightmare that plagued her mind because of the horror movie that Mason had forced her to watch earlier in the day. Her phone buzzed and without a further glance, she grasped it and moved her finger against the screen.
‘Hey running late, I’ll make it up to you.’
She sighed, this was so unlike him and yet she let it slide as she typed out a reply. ‘Don't worry, be safe.’ And quickly hit send before placing it back in her bag and went back to her drawing. It was then that she noticed the waitress coming over with a fresh coffee and scone for her, a friend that she had made since coming her with Mason. With a smile, she took the old and placed the fresh and Alyssa quickly thanked her as she placed her pencil down and tended to the coffee mug before taking a hearty sip.
