Give a rat’s ass what you think about me
I'll dot your eyes and cross your fucking teeth
I'll dot your eyes and cross your fucking teeth
in one instance, kato had gone from being scum to a leader. that hadn't meant he was any better at being one than the other but it sure as hell felt good to be free. he'd been biding his time as an omega in the bystrom pack, waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike. after all, he had to assemble a pack of his own, to ensure his place in the world and his success in later striking against them. while he had no desires to rule in the place of vidar, as head of san francisco, he did wish the man to suffer and be brought down from his reign.
kato hadn't always had such a negative thought process whereas the self-proclaimed king was concerned. in fact, when vidar came across him, the youngster was rather eager to join his ranks. not only were they both from ancient times, by the bystroms seemed to have their shit together. loyalty was put first and foremost above all...and that was something kato could stand behind as a man who'd been scorned one too many times. but he quickly learned that vidar was not the ruthless, vengeful man he mistook him for. instead he was mostly peaceful, acting only when absolutely necessary. it was a shock and something of an adjustment to kato, who'd served most of his adult life as a roman gladiator against his will.
as soon as kato started vocalizing his ambitions as a fighter, vidar attempted to knock him down a peg. only he didn't just fall a peg, but the whole ladder. down to the bottom he went, practically serving alongside the slave girl in their home. he was denied his ability to hunt with the pack, as he was many other privileges. even as the idea of war sparked, a mere whisper in their home, he was immediate told he would not participate. how could he not be allowed to participate in the great war of their lives? the war against the vampires.
that had been the last straw. having secured a great number of secrets from the pack, he tore through it like a tornado. he hadn't even come close to harming vidar or his immediate family but he'd managed to kill three lower ranking wolves on his way out. it hadn't taken him long to attract a few followers, misfits like himself who didn't belong elsewhere. they were incredibly loyal to him, as he expected, though it was probably in part, due to fear.
as the moon sunk below the horizon line, kato stood on the docks. another six or so lycans stood behind him, waiting for him bark a command at them. they were all seething, growling even, as they reveled in the adrenaline spike they all felt. yet kato was relaxed, merely peering across the harbor at the events taking place. a devilish smirk eased over his lips, bringing him great joy in the death that was to be had soon. he'd let the bystroms attack the aurics and then he'd swoop in with his own pack, surprising them both. foolish? perhaps. but no one was going to deter him in that moment. he was a monster that would make both camilla and keegan ashamed and yet, even the thoughts of them couldn't stop him.
