Joan, Meeting, VITALY ROMANOV lyrics @ Lana Del Rey. notes – words - 1040ish
In the Land of Gods and Monsters I was an Angel
Ever since she was activated as a Russian spy, Joan has been on the run from the C.I.A., FBI, and whatever police force in Washington. Now, the Russian woman flew herself all the way to California, where her said target would be located for some months giving her sometime to pay the man a visit. Joan’s employers are simply military men who want to see America fall, and to kill a nation you need to sever its leaders, which is how Iosuf created the project in the first place. Stealing children from their families, after killing their parents, then before the children were born the mother was injected with demon blood, so when the child was born it was born with demon blood. Joan is one of those, many, children that had to go through harsh training to become a weapon for Russia, a weapon that was now against all that she has ever knew.
Joan learned the truth of it all, she learned what her employers have done to her and what happened to her parents because it all started with the Russian spy her team arrested for questioning. The other Russian said that her parents died on the way to the airport for a vacation, but she remembers being told that her parents died in a fatal car accident. The slip-up caused her to do her own digging to find out what really happened to her parents, she found their files that read terminated on the, and she only knew that to mean they were killed. Joan was filled with anger and betrayal as she learned about her parents and she has the need to direct it back at her employers because they did more than killed her parents, they also killed her husband. Dominic was supposed to be a cover story, but she accidentally fell in love with the German Scientist, and as soon as Joan was activated they took him away, the only thing left was a knocked over chair. Joan could only assume that they got to him before she could, and it was their anniversary that night.
Joan sat at a desk as she watched the screen of her laptop waiting patiently for an email from one of her employers on a favor she needed. Right now, her employers don’t know that she went rogue or was coming to kill their leaders because what good was to expose her current status, when she could use them as long as she could. The email she was waiting for were actually files of someone she has heard from her employers may be of some help to her, though Joan was taking the situation in her own hands and changing course on this particular man. He was supposed to help her on killing the vice president, but she needs him to help her destroy her employers. The only way to make sure he was compliant was to dig up as much dirt as she possibly can, then hope that her files are clean on her end. Joan was fairly confident that she was clean because her old life in Siberia was only recordings instead of paperwork, but still searchable.
Joan tapped her fingers on the small motel table as she a waited for the email, eventually she refreshed her page to see an email in her inbox. Quickly she opened the email and read what it entails, then she clicked the added document and smiled as she read his name,” Vitaly...Romanov.” Already she was finding much use for the man, he was a trained killer, same as she, and he has a record with his employers of killing his targets, except for one. Apparently there was one job he couldn’t fulfill and his people are still holding him accountable for that, which makes things interesting for Joan. Joan continued to scroll down in the document to see a woman and child walking together, probably his wife and child, if she was to assume. “Wife was the object of transference that Vitaly had failed to deliver,” Joan continued as she was tying things together,” So who was she was supposed to be given to….” Then on the last page she found a mentioning of a mob group that settled in Cali, and the document held a few faces that Joan took a picture of with a stolen phone to send to her employers. After the message was sent, Joan deleted the picture and the text message before tossing the phone.
“Alright, Vitaly Romanov, we have some business to attend to…” Joan said as she stood from the table, closing her laptop, and headed towards her room to grab her gun. The Russian spy kept her black hair out as she strapped her gun on her hip, ready to fire at any moment, which it had to be since the life Joan’s is living cause for a loaded weapon. Joan left out of her motel room, hearing the door lock behind her as she walked away into the night, she kept her head down so that the city cameras do not catch her face. The last thing she needs was the C.I.A. finding out where she was located an impeding her process on destroying her employers because things like this takes time, and Joan needs a lot of it to make things work.
The walk to where Vitaly was lived wasn’t hard to locate, if you knew the right people and had the right contacts. Casually, Joan walked up to the door way, dressed in a leather black jacket with black jeans, and a white shirt as she knocked on the door. When Vitaly, or somebody, opens the door, she would more than likely pull out her gun, though hopefully it was not the kid, she would have to play it nice then.

COME BREAK ME DOWN
a normal life was something that could never be attained. no matter how hard vitaly struggled, he could never be the man that jo deserved. even when they were together, he wasn't entirely there. the things that he had seen... the pain he endured... it all took a drastic toll on the guy, a form of post traumatic stress that couldn't be simply shrugged away. rather than seek out help, vitaly turned to the comfort of drugs. they healed his wounds, his mind... cocaine numbed his tormented soul, it made life easier. that's all it was: a safety blanket. instead of facing his fears head-on, he chose to merely place a band-aid on the issues. in his mind, there was no way of truly mending his broken state, no way of helping himself. worst of all, he wasn't the only one in danger. due to a previously broken contract, his wife was living a constant threat, one that she wasn't even aware of. jocelyn had no idea... but, maybe it was better that way. besides, placing such worry onto a pregnant woman would surely result in a less than pleasant situation. vitaly was looking out for his family... well, he was trying to.
thanks to a rather close friendship with his organization's head boss, vitaly was granted a self-employment of sorts. though he still worked alongside the organization, he could also take on his own contracts. it wasn't exactly an easy task to get a hold of the man, one would need to know where to look. vitaly took precautions when it came to work, carefully separating his line of duty from life at home. jocelyn believed him to be a consultant, which explained the constant need to travel from place to place. the woman never did question her husband's actions, perhaps for her own interest. did she truly want to know the truth? it was obvious that vitaly was hiding something, aside from his little drug addiction. that was something jo knew about, and hated entirely. fights broke out often over the ordeal, but they never stuck. vitaly was wise when it came to words, knowing how to calm jocelyn down. then again, his wife was no fool. it was clear that she loved vitaly, and perhaps that was her downfall. how could you threaten someone you cared so much about? how could she take away the one thing that seemed to be helping him, despite not knowing what troubled the man in the first place? there were plenty of secrets weaved within their marriage, not only from vitaly's end.
the steady flicker of a television lit up the dim living room, vitaly seated on the couch with one arm wrapped around feliks. it seemed to be a nightly routine, the two of them watching some form of cartoon before bed. normally jo would be cuddled up on the other end of their son, but due to her pregnancy, she was feeling rather tired that evening and headed to bed early. aside from the usual peter pan and the lion king, feliks quickly decided upon lilo and stitch. despite his eyes having been focused on the screen, vitaly's mind was far elsewhere. he couldn't stop thinking about them... his father and his brother, family... jesus, now kid's shows were getting to him? glancing down at feliks, a light smile pulled at his mouth as he noticed a small yawn. "time for bed, kiddo." with heavy eyes, the child merely nodded in response. scooping feliks up within his arms, vitaly carried him towards his bedroom. gently laying the child down, he pulled up the covers before taking a seat on the edge of the bed. his previous smile grew as he watched feliks struggling to stay awake, one hand brushing through the boy's blond hair. "ya lyublyu tebya" i love you. the words were spoken in a soft tone, a chuckle following when feliks attempted to say it back.
"at this rate, you'll be speaking russian in no time. mommy will have no idea what we're talking about. it's gonna drive her crazy, but that's okay." smirking in a playful manner, vitaly leaned forward, kissing feliks on the forehead before standing up. "night, monkey." walking towards the door, he flicked the light off before pausing briefly. "nigh daddy". those words, that tiny voice... it caused his heart to warm and break all at the same time. stepping out of the room, he momentarily leaned up against his bedroom door frame, eyes skimming over jocelyn. she was fast asleep, glowing as usual. god, she was beautiful. pushing away from the frame, his smile faded, moving into the bathroom before locking the door behind him. he could feel his chest tightening, the anxiety taking over. the memories. shaking slightly, vitaly pulled a baggy out of his pocket, pouring its contents onto the counter. after separating the white powder into neat lines, he used a rolled up dollar bill to snort each one. sniffling, vitaly rubbed at his nose before cleaning up, sliding the empty bag back into his pocket. eyes hesitantly locked onto the mirror as he turned toward the door, catching a glimpse of his reflection. he couldn't even recognize himself anymore.
the man was lost within himself, attention only straining at the faint sound of a knock. brows pulled together, leaving the bathroom before quietly creeping back into his room. silently, he grabbed a gun from his nightstand drawer, casting a weary gaze toward jo. swallowing hard, vitaly stepped toward the front door, gun held tightly as he looked through the peep hole. the woman was unfamiliar, which was the first red flag. noting the time of evening, that was the second. unlocking the door, he merely opened it enough to poke his head out, and the half of his body. the gun remained in his other hand, which was currently held behind his back. "can i help you?" despite the circumstances, he remained casual, tone even coming out as friendly. however, his guard was on high-alert. dilated pupils stayed glued to the woman's own eyes, though vitaly did manage to catch sight of an outlined gun using peripheral vision. "you know, i don't quite recall ordering a hooker for the night. must have the wrong house, might wanna try next door." with that, he attempted to shut the door before a fight could potentially break out.

Joan, Meeting, VITALY ROMANOV lyrics @ Lana Del Rey. notes – This one sucks words - 600ish
In the Land of Gods and Monsters I was an Angel
The wait wasn’t long before someone opened up the door, though the man who opened the door only opened it slightly, but through the dim lighting she could see the familiar face of Vitaly Romanov. Pulling out her gun wouldn’t be the smartest nor the easiest route, so she would have to go without it for a moment, but she expects the other party to at least be armed. If Joan wanted to, she could have easily slipped inside of his home as soon as he opened the door, she using the shadows as her gateways inside, but she wanted to see Vitaly’s face. The Russian agent eyed Vitaly with a small smirk as she spoke to her from the side of the slightly opened door, she could see one hand and the other was out of her site, she imagines it could be a weapon, whether it was a knife or a gun, she wouldn’t know. Vitaly was an assassin, so she would expect him to be carrying weapons on him or near, she would have to be careful when advancing him. Joan is enhanced, but she isn’t immortal and the wrong move could be her last, so it was all the more imperative to make sure she could handle him.
The last few words coming from Vitaly’s lips made Joan snort, but as soon as he tried to close the door she stopped it with her foot, then grabbed the wooden work of the door, her own strength keeping the door open. Joan spoke in her native tongue,” Khorosho, chto ya ne prostitutka.” Good thing I am not a hooker. Joan eyed Vitaly carefully before using her enhanced strength to push the door back onto Vitaly, allowing her some room to enter inside of his home, though she moved quickly and disappeared in the shadows of his home. Joan hid silently in the shadows away from Vitaly’s sight, although she can’t stay in the shadows for long before being totally consumed by it, so she would have to make her decision soon.
Joan spoke from the shadows, which made it seem her voice echoed all around the home, instead of one spot making it just that harder to find exactly what shadow she was inside. “Vitaly Romanov, 31 one years of age, living with a family of three, himself, his son, and his wife,” Joan continued her profiling of her target,” A contract killer, of the sorts, with a pass that is still out to get him, who is to say that I am not here to finish the job.” Joan felt her time was near to leave the shadows so she did just that with her gun drawn and pointed at Vitaly, her eyes locked on him as he could probably see her clear as day,” Takaya krasivaya sem'ya ... byl by pozor dlya nikh, chtoby uvyaznut' s vashim proshlym , Romanov .” Such a beautiful family… Would be a shame for them to get caught up in your past, Romanov. Joan said with a smirk a she was threatening the mortal to make the wrong move, if they were to fight, she was trained to do so, and she will not make things easy. Joan needs him alive, but if he has to be beaten in the process, she wouldn’t mind it,” Lets make this easy, I’ll put my gun down, if you drop whatever weapons you have right now.”
