Envy, Meeting, QUENTIN BLACKWOOD
lyrics @ Lana Del Rey. notes – I hope you like words - 950ish
In the Land of Gods and Monsters
I was an Angel
Envy stood in her elaborate bathroom with her illustrious golden silk robe draped over her body. Envy kept a stone cold stare as she looked into her mirror that stood taller than man of six feet, though with such great size its width was small. The mirror was different, very different as it was made of supernatural qualities, crafted by the spells of a powerful Wiccan, but stolen from Envy after killing that Wiccan because the witch simply had something Envy did not have. Envy adored the mirror so much as she just had to have it in her possession because she doesn’t have anything of such beauty and such power, making it more tempting to be the only person in the world to have such material. The mirror has a long history with Envy as it goes everywhere she goes, and generally she likes to keep it from the eyes of others because the last thing she needs is for someone to steal her most prized and kept secret. The mirror is a divination tool as well as something prophetic, the Wiccan who created the mirror needed to spy on her enemies, while it did a phenomenal job, the mirror is not clear on its prophecies or what it shows you.
The mirror didn’t tell the Wiccan that Envy was coming to take it and kill her, though Envy was sure the mirror tried to warn her of great danger. Sadly, the Wiccan didn’t count on the danger being a pretty face as it was so tempting to believe Envy was someone of good fortune, but the demon is anything but good fortune. The moment Envy steps into a room she causes dismay, people are ready to rip the throats of their neighbors over petty things like they have a watch that they do not have or a boyfriend they wanted, but couldn’t have. The mirror has only fed deeper into Envy’s insecurities, sometimes it tells her that she was the most beautiful of all, but someone who else has taken her place. Envy cannot have anyone better than her or to have something she does not have, so she sets out to find that beautiful someone or something and steals it. Other than its power, Envy doesn’t know much about the mirror as it does not have reflection because where glass is supposed to be there is blackness, smooth like obsidian stone. The black stone is kept in place by some type of metal, but could be gold as it is a bright and shining color, engraved with various markings, probably incantations that gives the mirror its powers.
Envy stood in front of the mirror, her eyes looking hungry for a soul as she looks older everyday she goes without a soul. Although it is not like Envy needs a soul every day to survive, she just can’t go without a soul no more than a month without looking like her true self, a feeble old woman. The souls of virgin mortals are what gives her beauty and an innocent face, unflawed and radiating. Envy doesn’t ever want to be that old woman, she wants to stay young, to stay beautiful, and she wants to be the only one that can turn the most heads when she walks in. Envy wants to feel the jealousy towards her because she is so beautiful, she feeds off of envious energies, and she can’t get enough of it, the mirror will help her get what she wants, which was why she stole it in the first place.
Envy touched the cool stone with a fragile finger, dragging slowly done towards its frame as she spoke softly, though eagerness sips through her words,” Mirror, Mirror, on the wall, who is the most beautiful of them all?” Envy’s hand fell back to her side as she awaited the answer of the mirror, though for a moment nothing happen until golden light etched through the stone of the mirror, its writing elaborately stated. Envy awaited for the prophecy to be written before reading it aloud,” You are the most beautiful of them all, yet you tie with one, family is binding, as you are bound by blood.” Envy breathed out with agitation as she already knows whom the mirror is speaking of, though she played it coy and asked another question,” You speak of another, what do you see? Who has beauty that ties with me?” Again, Envy awaited the mirror to finish its response before reading it aloud,” Sins you are, the mortals downfall, Jealousy and Lechery shall end them all.” Envy stormed away from the mirror as its ancient writing disappeared from the stone as if nothing was engraved on its surface.
Envy left her bedroom and went towards the elevator, she was completely furious because yet again she was seen lesser towards the, always, beautiful Lust. Envy hated her cousin, she hated that she had the beauty she could never have as her own, she hates that she will never what someone else has. Envy will always be angry, she will always be filled with hate, but she is brought joy and happiness when she inflicts it on others, which is how she copes with herself. The Sin finally left the elevator as it brought her down to the reception area, and already has she seated herself at the bar, waiting for her drink to be served.Living in the Garden
