David, Meeting, THOMAS HAWK lyrics @ Lana Del Rey. notes – words - 800ish
In the Land of Gods and Monsters I was an Angel
David sat at the bar with an expressionless face, though he may not look like it, David was thinking about a lot of things. He is just really good at keeping a poker face with other people, you can’t really tell what he is thinking or going to say until he actually does it. David has always been the silent type, generally keeping to himself rather than jumping into conversation with other people. Chelsea, his once wife, may she rest in peace, really brought him out of his own shell and got him to mix with others, allow him to explore the outside world. Now that she was gone, David has been traveling the outside world in pursuit of the thing that killed her, and at the same time he is returning back to his little shell, getting further and further away from people. Since Chelsea’s death, David has grown angrier and bitter because she was basically his world that kept him together, so without her he feels as if he is nothing.
David does has his children, so he isn’t as gone as he think he is because they do fill in parts of that void that rests on his heart. He loves his children dearly and he hates that he sucked them all into the life of hunting the supernatural, he hates that they couldn’t live the normal lives of regular people, oblivious to demons and the like. Although, its too late for going back now as they were all too far into the game, and David will less likely want them to leave. Especially, after everything has happened to them, things have become more than personal because they lost too many people to just give up. Hunting was the very reason he started talking back with his father again, now he hasn’t spoken or seen the old man in a few months, but the contact is still there. David has seen that hunting has really broken his family part and brought it back together in what seems like a continuous cycle.
The hunter got a bartender’s attention as he asked for a drink,” A beer please, Mondello.” The Bartender nodded and responded,” Would that be all for you sir?” David nodded, before the bartender went off to grab his beer for him, which didn’t take no more than three or so minutes to get it. Before long, David was holding his mondello in his hand, taking a few sips at a time as he recalled his memories. Man there was so much shit on his mind, so much has happened in the passing years that was still heavy on his mind. Kate becoming a vampire has really been bothering him as of late, his baby girl, a fucking fang fucker, and he would say it was his fault, but what could he have done by himself against a coven of vampire. David had called Jax that night, many times over, yet not one call pulled through, and sadly Kate was turned before his son decided to check his phone. David is angry about that, all of his children basically said fuck the code, fuck any kind of directions, and really just turned their backs on family. Although, Tate didn’t turn her back on family, she actually came to put it back together, though she was new to the code, she was to following directions when it came to the supernatural.
All would have been fine if she wasn’t turned into those freaks of nature as David is against all types of supernatural, he doesn’t really trust the Wiccan crowd even if they are mortal, the idea that they are more than human doesn’t put him at ease. David loves his daughter, but now that she’s a vampire, how can he love what he hates? Thomas and Jackson still sees Kate as their sister, but David just can’t get pass her being a vampire, someone who enjoys killing, and its David and his son’s job to kill those kind of monsters. Although, things get harder when its your own blood, someone you grew up with, and hesitation stops you from pulling the trigger, but what if Kate doesn’t hesitate and she kills one of them? Accident or not, David would kill her, it will end her suffering, and it would save his little girl. Again, Jackson and Thomas doesn’t feel the same about it.

His entire life had become some sort of horror story, or a god-awful episode of some evening drama that had been airing for too long. It was like he was stuck in a horrible story arc and wanted nothing more than for it to end, to be over. Sadly, this was all too real. There wasn’t anything he could do to change it, to go back and fix what had happened. There was no way he would ever get to see his beautiful wife ever again. There wouldn’t ever be a chance to say goodbye or to tell her that he loved her one last time. He’d never be able to hold that baby that was still inside of her, he’d never be able to meet his only child. His happy life was ruined forever and he couldn’t even blame hunting, his brother or his father. There was nothing he could have done to have prevented this.
As he sat in the pews of the church where Arielle’s funeral was being held, he looked like he was almost emotionless. On the inside though, he was breaking apart. She was so young, so innocent. Thomas hated this, he hated it all of it. He wanted to be held by her again, he longed to hear her voice again. He was supposed to get up and say a few words, but nothing came out of his mouth. He couldn’t speak, he couldn’t think and he felt like he couldn’t breathe. “Excuse me,” he muttered as he slipped out of the church and got into his car. Elle would have understood and he knew that in his heart.
Driving seemed to numb him again, or maybe it was the breakdown he had in his car, he wasn’t sure. As he drove, his mind kept going in circles. He wanted to know what he did to deserve this, he wanted to know why the fuck he had to lose everything he cared about and worked so hard to protect. There was literally no reason, he did it all right. He met a wonderful girl, he fell in love. Maybe he should have told his father about it and he damn well knew that he should have called Jackson to tell him about it too. Was this karma? He doubted it, mostly because he didn’t believe in it. Elle did though, she was such a passionate and open minded person. He’d miss her dearly, but he also wouldn’t rest until he found the bastard who killed her.
Pulling into the parking lot of a bar he frequented, he sighed. Thomas rested his forehead against the steering wheel and closed his eyes tightly. Every woman he ever loved had died it seemed. His mother when he was a child, even though Kate was technically still alive, she had died to become a vampire and then Elle. Brutally murdered in her own home. He couldn’t even imagine what she was thinking when she was killed. The pain she must have felt when she died, the instinct she must have had to protect her baby. It killed Thomas inside to have to think about it, and yet he couldn’t seem to stop. If he had told her what he was, what threats where lurking in the shadows at night, maybe he could have saved her.
Licking his lips, Thomas killed the engine and got out of the car, locking the door behind him. He undid the buttons on his jacket and loosened his tie as he went into the bar. He shoved his hands into his pockets as he smiled a bit at the regulars there. They knew, they didn’t say anything to him, but they knew. Unknown to Thomas, the man he sat next to was his father. A man that he hadn’t spoken to in years.
With his eyes still puffy and slightly red from the breakdown he had in his car, he ordered a shot of whiskey before ordering a beer. His voice was thick and nasally, as if he had a horrible head cold. The bar tender simply offered a look of sympathy to the man. Thomas threw back the shot, feeling the burn as it went down before he stared into the pint of beer. The glass was cold again Thomas’s hands as his thumb ran around the rim of the mug. What a fool he must have looked like. A man who had just run out of the funeral of his wife because he couldn’t handle it.
He didn’t care who or what got in his way, but he would kill any and all vampires. If that meant his killed his sister, then so be it. He didn’t want those vile creatures roaming the earth, he wanted to make them pay. If he found the vampire who did this, he wouldn’t kill him or her. No, he would make them watch as he ended the life of the person they loved the most.
Thomas was in his own world, his own mind set. It still had not clued into the young man that he was sitting next to the man that he didn’t think he’d ever see again.

David, Meeting, THOMAS HAWK lyrics @ Lana Del Rey. notes – words - 600ish
In the Land of Gods and Monsters I was an Angel
David was not yet close to being drunk, though maybe he could feel a buzz threatening to take over, but besides that he felt okay. Although, by okay, it means that he wasn’t about to go and punch a wall or yell at his sons for what happened to his daughter and their sister because right now, David does not have the energy nor the want to argue. Thomas and Jackson have already made up their minds on what they are going to do and David can’t stop two grown men from making their own decisions, even when they are bad ones. David is disappointed nonetheless, his sons have proved to him that they don’t give a damn about the code or about fighting what they believe in. They have given up entirely, at least Thomas did, and especially when his wife was killed he just broke down and gave up. He couldn’t take seeing all the people that he love die and that is understandable, but David has seen for worse things than Thomas was seeing now. All Thomas life David had been protecting him, even before there was such things as monsters, David was protecting his children and everything he does now was to protect his kids.
David would tell his son to suck it up, Arielle was dead and there was nothing he could do about it, and crying about won’t bring her back either, which would have been something he would say now, but when he first lost Chelsea he was a wreck himself. The evolution hunting put David in has made him less emoptional and more focused because of all the horrifying had hard things he has seen, emotions would just get in the way of things. Thomas and Jackson sees that as a problem and not something to live by, but David sees it necessary to place your emotions aside to deal with the supernatural because they will use you and torment you with it.
Losing Chelsea was a lot for David, he became a drunk, like his father, he became a grump, like his father, and he became obsessed with finding the killer of his wife that he has thrown everything aside to do just that, like his father. Katherine, Jackson, and Thomas were neglected for the most part, when David started up hunting and were left to the mercy of Cameron if he was ever around. Hunting had turned David from the loving father to a crude and merciless hunter, but don’t get him wrong he loves his kids. Although, he draws the line at vampires, lycans, wiccans, or demons because they are all threats, and to David they all had something to do with Chelsea’s death. In a way, you can say that he still hasn’t gotten over the death of Chelsea because he is blaming it on every living supernatural being.
David turned over to see someone sit next to him, and if he wasn’t blind, he saw his own son, Thomas, sitting right next to him. Already, he could feel an argument about to erupt in a public area, but the last thing he needed tonight was an argument with his sons because David has made up his mind, Katherine needs to die. David eyed Thomas a bit before turning forward to sip his drink,” You lookin a bit puffy-eyed son.”

He had felt like a failure, like he had failed as a husband and as a father. There was so much pain in the world as it was already and when he walked into that house, when he saw the blood smeared everywhere, when he saw his dead wife’s body. Thomas had never felt that kind of rage ever in his life, and for the first time ever in his life he wanted nothing more than to have his wife back and he wanted to be back on the hunt, he wanted to be the exact thing he had spent so long avoiding. He wanted to be a hunter again, he wanted to kill the monster who took everything from him.
Rubbing his eyes, he brought the glass to his lips and took a sip of the beer. While it wasn’t the best stuff out there, it would numb the pain for a while at least. He pushed a hand through his all too shaggy hair, Elle would have given him shit for that. He hated that his hair was so long, but trying to keep everything styled and well, put together, wasn’t something that he was able to do at that moment in time. There was so much in his life that wasn’t put together and this day was one of the many that would come that would break him. There would be her birthday, their anniversary, the day that their baby would have been due, and then of course the day of the anniversary of her death would come and Thomas would lose it again, just like his father did when their mother had been killed.
Thomas wanted to be nothing like his father, he made that vow when he was a child. He wouldn’t ever turn his back on his family and he had broken that vow when he left his brother, when he gave up on his father and when he let his sister become a creature that he now hunted. Thomas was pulled out of his thoughts when he finally heard his father’s voice. His brain registered that it was the man who had left him when he was so young, when he needed someone to look up to and all he had was his brother and uncle. Thomas licked his lips as he looked over at David, “Funerals can do that to a man,” he muttered, his voice thick. He cleared his throat, trying to hide the fact that he had spent the day crying.
“So… dad,” it was strange to even say that to the man next to him, “I guess we finally have something in common.” Thomas wasn’t feeling the most friendly. “We both lost a wife to a supernatural being, only difference is, all of your children survived.” Katherine, while she was a vampire, she was alive. David was able to know that she was okay, that she was able to take her first breath and first steps. Maybe he was a little too bitter and maybe he should have been a little nicer, this man was his father after all. Thomas just couldn’t be, not now. The only reason he was ever sweet and nice was because of his wife, his Elle. “Where have you been?” he asked, not wanting to deal with the formalities, he just wanted to know where the hell his father went.
