WORDS: 759 | TAG: WOLF SANTO | NOTES: hope its okay. next will be longer looking at the woman hard at work, it was difficult to believe she was once an angel. no, we’re not talking some innocent little girl; she’d truly been an angel. once upon a time alexandra went by an entirely different name, looking to save the mortal race below. she'd always been a kind and faithful protector, one who abided by rules and always made sure to cross her t’s and dot her i's. such a shame it was that she had to fall – all because she couldn’t take the destructiveness of the world. she couldn’t sit by and watch the death toll rise while her brothers and father did nothing. she'd sealed her fate by speaking out to the mortals but to this day, she still hadn’t regretted it.
guess it was safe to say that alex was still at the same game. though her wings had been clipped and the ties between her brothers had been severed, she still held her healing abilities. with them, she did the best she could from a ‘mortal’ standpoint, helping others without so much as a care for herself. through her work as a reconstructive surgeon and e.r. doctor, she earned two very hefty paychecks. after the bills had been paid on her very meager apartment and putting gas into her crappy volkswagen, the rest of the money went right back into her work. she used it to help those in need, those who didn’t have funds to get the proper care they needed. while she attempted to use her healing abilities as a whitelighter to gift people with a speedy recovery, there were simply some instances in which she had to do things manually. with her steady hands and wealth of medical knowledge, she worked each and every day to fix the lives of people who deserved them most. sometimes the work was painful, seeing the hurt of innocent people, but in the end, it was worth it….to see that end result. falling from the sky may have seemed like a disgrace to her kind but for alex, it was perhaps the best thing that had ever happened to her.
now nearly dusk, alex was finally able to put down her clipboard and stethoscope, taking a heavy breath. her time was split between her own surgery clinic and the emergency room, so life was never boring. today she’d been hard at work at mercy general, fixing people who came in with an assortment of issues. in her twelve hour shift, she’d managed to set multiple broken bones, deliver some stiches and staples, save a man from a heart attack, get a peanut out of a toddler’s nose, and help an elderly woman survive her asthmatic attack. overall, she had to say it was a quieter day than normal, though still enough work to drain her slightly.
she hung up her white coat in the staff area, calling to the nurse who often aided her. “hey, i’m going to head out for some air but i'll be back in an hour or so. got my pager if ya need me.” she had some paperwork she figured she’d come back and do in a few hours, even though it wasn’t anything urgent. some of her coworkers called her superwoman while others told her she was crazy for working as hard as she was. well, what else was she supposed to do? she still honored the same values of hardwork, dedication, and selflessness that she’d had as an angel so she didn’t see much of a point in doing anything for herself. hell, sometimes she had to force herself to remember she still needed to eat and sleep. “ain’t no rest for the wicked, linda.” she joked with a casual laugh as she threw her coat on, heading out the door.
the whitelighter found herself in the park, meandering along the path. night had already enveloped the sky at that point, leaving the streetlamps to guide her way. many had found the cool winter air too cold for their liking but she appreciated it, letting the wind nip her nose as she steadily meandered through the park. having seen the world from above, alex was well aware of the supernatural that roamed the earth and now too, the danger that lurked in the city. she worried not about herself in the park but instead, the various other unsuspecting beings who could fall prey to an attack. it was for that reason she was always on the lookout. WE MIGHT EXIST WITH ONE FOOT IN THE GRAVE. this life ain't over; we still got something to save

A moon beam shines bright in the city of angels Guiding the dreamers back to life And they'll do the same every tomorrow Till the pain subsides
Don't be scared now Close your eyes She holds guard tonight Go on forward no remorse Life will take it's course
OOC: Well, this should be an interesting reunion!
Time, it seemed that was all that he had in the entire world. Since becoming a member of the Brethren, his mettle was constantly tested. He needed to proved himself. His weapon smith abilities came in handy. He could craft a weapon with the best of them. He could go toe to toe with the most powerful supernatural creatures. After all, some of his demonic powers to remained behind. Truth, be told-- he could barely control them. His demonic powers consumed him, and dragged him down into the darkness. It was something that he chronically battled. The Brethren had left him completely mortal, but some of the darkness lingered behind. Before he had been left at the hands of the church, only a matter of time ago, he’d been an angel. He had loved the mortals, and even at this point the still did. Even with mindless rage, beneath the surface of his mind-- Wolf still found a reason to carry on. More good existed, then evil still existed in the former demon. Since becoming mortal, he’d found himself in situations that required quick thinking. His intelligence hadn’t changed. He was still smart enough to find himself out of critical situations. That was probably the only godsend that still existed for the former demon. The only original quality from his angelic origins. Wolf was challenged, fighting his inner ambitions, and attempting to do good in the world. He was repenting for his former hardships.
His father, the lord of heaven had cast him out for loving another of his kin. Even after becoming demon in the lake of fire, something from his angelic heritage was left behind. An abundance of compassion, and love. He didn’t hate his father, or the other angels in heaven. Fact of the matter, Wolf understood his father’s reasons. He was getting to close to another person. That person was another angel. Angel’s were suppose to love other’s on an emotional, and mental level, However, physical love between angels was forbidden. For that alone, Wolf had a difficult time forgiving his father. However, holding onto grudges was something that Wolf had to let go of. Anger, was a very mortal emotion. Although, he shared other emotions besides anger. Sadness, because he hadn’t gotten the opportunity to prove himself, and being severed from the one person that understood him the best. Loneliness, because even among the Brethren, Wolf still felt like an outsider. Sure he had the necessary skills, but that was pretty much the only reasons for his existence in the fold. He was an expert hunter, but his weapon skills were prized more then his ability to kill things.
The night had taken hold over the land. Only the streetlights remained active. Tonight, though-- Wolf wasn’t hunting, he was merely gathering his thoughts. Tonight, he was in control of himself. It was the loneliness that propelled him onwards. He’d just come back from a local bar. He’d had a few drinks, and the alcohol was traveling down his system. When he wasn’t battling the wicked creatures of the world, he was bar hoping. Wolf found little reason to hang onto his rank and file within the church. He was valued by his team, but he spent more time alone, rather then in the company of his team. He walked down the path, carrying his emotions like dead-weights. It crippled him, feeling all of these very mortal emotions. As a demon, all he needed to feel was resentment and rage. Those were the only quality emotions that he felt. However, now he had so much more to think about-- things to ponder as a mortal.
As he walked down the path, he halted. The smell of alcohol was on his breath. He found a park bench, and sat down. He was completely consumed with regret, and much of it was the alcohol talking. Just as he sat down to take a breath of the night’s air, he sighed softly, he received a text message on his phone. “Where are you?” It was from the leader of the Brethren, Wolf didn’t reply. He carried with him, a bottle in his left hand. He took another sip of the beer. Wolf, was beyond and over the edge. He needed sometime alone, and needed to gather his thoughts before returning back to the team. If they saw him in a moment of weakness, then the others would question his position in the ranks of his team. He was suppose to be crafty, intelligent, and cunning. That was half the reason for why he’d been allowed into the fold. He sighed softly, and glanced up at the night sky. He’d seen the world from above, even promised his partner that one day he’d bring the moon and stars to her alone.
He took another sip from his beer, and then stood up. Someone was coming down the path. His eyes remained sharp, but much of his physical reaction was mortal. His vision still remained sharp, because he’d only transformed into his hellhound form only a couple of days ago. His sense of smell, and sight still remained heightened. Similar to a lycan, his physical and mental conditioning was heightened. However, he lost complete control of his hellhound form. He turned his head in the direction of the person coming. He was in a slum, and he didn’t need someone else seeing him this way. Carefully, he disposed of the beer can in the trash, which resided next to the park bench. He stood straight up, his physical size showing. He never hated the mortals, fact of the matter-- he wanted to protect them from themselves. With the exorcisms, much of his demonic essence had been stripped away. His mortality, had left him with more good in his heart. It was something that he counted on. Apart of himself, that had been regained from his former angelic status. More light existed in his heart, then evil. Then something familiar hit him, it was an old feeling. One that he hadn’t felt in years. He remained stationary, and waited for the person to come closer. Something compelled him to stay next to that park bench. He was now waiting for something, or someone.

alexandra's focus had always been on the salvation of the world, as she thought every one of god’s soldiers should be. the problem? god often sat by and let tragedy happen, to great extents. she tried to act as her brothers, understanding the will of god…and for many centuries, she had. she knew that old life had to be taken for new live to come into this world and additionally, sometimes fate had a way of acting out in ways that seemed unfair. but the things that were happening on this earth, here and now, was something she couldn’t fathom. the horsemen were rising, bringing forth waves of evil in the form of the deadly sins. she'd even heard rumor that lucifer himself was in the city, tainting every corner of it with his horridness. the entire idea made alexandra not only upset, but angry. as an angel, she was told to be fair and neutral without anger or negative emotions. but no longer a true angel, alex found herself fuming at the thought of all the injustices of the world. she did not hate or wish for destruction or death, but simply wished for order. the saw the sins in mortals and forgave them, delivering them to a kinder and safer path. that was all she’d ever been programmed to do and she didn’t see a point in changing now. she couldn’t, it was in her heart. and so, she merely continued on with her mission, the same one she was given at the beginning of time: save people.
it was organizations like these rumored brethren who made the whitelighter cringe. they took the name god in vain, claiming it was his will to murder everything that walked the earth with fangs or claws. while she struggled for a great while with accepting the supernatural, she had seen the pure hearts of some of them. very few had chosen to be what they were and attempted to live peaceful lives among their fellow races. so long as they honored harmony with the lesser race, she saw no problem in their existence. she herself had been labelled a wiccan, something that would have gotten her killed centuries ago in ancient salem. with no connections from god any longer, having been cast away from his inner circle, alex couldn’t say with conviction that these brethren weren’t placed here by god. the thought disgusted her but she’d endured and witnessed enough to know that he was not the kind being represented in people’s mind and hearts. even looking up on the bible, one could deduce that god had killed far more people than the supposed evil of satan. how right of him was that? she could no longer follow him faithfully, with an honest heart and instead, focused on the salvation of mankind.
truthfully, alex wasn’t sure what she was going to encounter tonight. most of the time, she’d found that it was more likely for something to happen in her random endeavors that it was not. it could have been something as simple as a child scraping their knee at the park and needing help to a person with a lycan attack that needed repair. the nice thing about her extreme healing was her ability to reverse changing processes if she attacked them early on. while she no longer believed in fate or the idea that god was sending people her way, she did tend to find that she happened to be in the right place at the right time far more than was normal.
as alex continued on her way, the smell of alcohol became consistently more pungent. she thought nothing of it, of course, considering the regularity of it. between the growing homeless population and delinquent teenagers, the wiccan truly wouldn’t be surprised to run into someone under the influence. there was truly nothing that could prepare her for the sight, or rather the person, that she would happen across with her light footfalls.
the skies had been silent to her, unforgiving either. she heard no words from the lord or her brothers and therefore, she hadn’t expected the sensation that overcame her. it was overwhelming, considering the great length of time since she’d felt it. like a connector, some pull that drew her to someone of similar makeup, it hit alexandra hard. she stopped in her tracks to take a deep breath, trying to make sense of what was happening to her. as she looked up, her gaze fell upon someone she hadn’t seen in a very long time. instinctively, her voice called out a name she hadn’t even thought of…for many, many years. “wolf?” alex was surprised at her own words, unaware of his name. but it came to her, like some divine intervention. through new mortal self, the whitelighter witnessed the soul of her old friend. hell, he was so much more than that to her.
the woman could do nothing but stand and stare at the man, taking in his image. within him she sensed a dark presence, one that terrified her slightly, but the purity of him was still there in part too. angels were forbidden from loving one another in the way she had grown fond of wolf. she knew not of his outcome but she felt the effects on her soul and the earth alike once he fell. she had confirmation of it, despite the fact she’d been sealed away from heaven. now gazing upon him, she was sure it had to have been true. “so it’s true…you fell from the heavens as i did.” without warning, without even knowing what danger befell this man, alex wrapped her arms around him in an embracing hug. she was much shorter than he but it felt good all the same, even if neither of them were in the angelic form they once knew. when she finally released him, she finally gazed up at him, trying to study the darkness that was attached to his soul. while it in part frightened her, she found a new calling within herself to chase it away from him. WE MIGHT EXIST WITH ONE FOOT IN THE GRAVE. this life ain't over; we still got something to save

You gave up the fight You left me behind All that's done's forgiven You'll always be mine I know deep inside All that's done's forgiven
A darkness lingered on the edge of his soul. The demonic attributes still fell into this character. Only half of it remained. Only at half of the power that he was left with. The Brethren had exiled much of his demonic essence, leaving him more mortal, then demon. He still became a monster, when he lost complete control. Outbursts, lead to unforeseen outcomes. However, despite much of the demonic essence being lost, so was the soul of his vessel. That left Wolf in complete control over the vessel. When he had taken his vessel, he had gained all of that man’s memory. The man he’d taken control of, had lead a solitary lifestyle. That made it all the better for Wolf. It meant that nobody would be concerned if this vessel went missing. The Brethren had given Wolf a new purpose, but he didn’t feel any closer to God. What would they know about God? God was forgiving, and often forced people to face trial and tribulation. Maybe, that was what his father had in mind for Wolf. The Brethren, was a test of finding his place in the holy alignment. He couldn’t deny that an evil still was clinging to him. He fought against it, wanted to leave it behind. How could he find forgiveness? He’d fell from heaven, because he loved another of his consorts. She’d loved him back. Because of his father, he’d fallen into the lake of fire. He’d burned in hell, where his soul had changed.
Wolf still wanted to do good in the world. He needed a reason to continue. Other then creating the weapons for the Brethren, Wolf still felt like an alien. He was a foreigner to them. They always eyed him with suspicion, but his above average intelligence kept him from being destroyed. Even in his angelic form, God had loved Wolf. In heaven, Wolf helped souls find their respective resting places. He transported them between heaven and hell. God had given Wolf a purpose. Even in the present, he disliked taking lives. He’d killed many supernatural creatures, because the Brethren labeled them as inferior. Well, wasn’t Wolf viewed as inferior? He was still part demon. Had the Brethren gotten use to the idea, that Wolf was only useful for a certain amount of time? He didn’t know the truth. He lamented for those that he killed. Not all supernatural creatures would be considered evil. Some tried to live amongst the humans. Some crossed the line. It was up to Wolf to keep the balance. That was what it pretty much boiled down too. Wolf, refused to kill the innocent. Although, his weapons did much of the talking. His training at the hands of the Brethren, had turned his weapon creating abilities into a hardened skill. In many ways, Wolf felt responsible for taking the innocent lives. The creatures that he killed, had once been human. Some clung to their humanity, refusing to give into the nightmarish creature that they had become. Wolf understood that better then anyone else.
Despite his silent protest, Wolf kept a low profile. He knew that they could exterminate him without a second thought. Although, perhaps becoming fully mortal would kill him. It would leave an empty vessel. Wolf’s entire existence would be gone. His spiritual essence would be depleted. The demonic essence, was keeping him alive. As much as he loathed himself, he was forced to deal with it. The darkness clung to him, and surrounded his aura. It gave Wolf a heaviness, to his energy. He sighed softly, but then something caught his attention. A familiar energy overwhelmed him. It was something that he hadn’t felt in a very long time. It was old, far older then his demonic essence. It was angelic. Another soul that had fallen from the heavens. It embodied true love, and compassion. His eyes lifted to the horizon, in order to see what was coming his way. He merely stood in complete silence. He reeked of alcohol, because he’d been traveling between the bars. He wasn’t drunk, but being under the influence meant that he didn’t have to face his own personal demons. They attacked him often. It came with becoming half mortal. His mind was riddled with regrets. Wolf was learning what it meant to be human. What it meant to have so many things to contend with. He felt guilt, sadness, hopelessness, depression, anxiety. All of these things overwhelmed him. It least when he was a full fledged demon, he could simply feel num to everything.
Then, it immediately caught his attention. That familiar voice, pierced the darkness that surrounded his chronic thoughts. His eyes studied her familiar features. She embraced him, and he was lost without words. Desperately, he searched fro the right words. It was his former partner. With some hesitation, he whispered her name, “Shekiah.” The words rolled off of his lips. She was everything that he had lost. She embodied, grace, beauty, light, warmth, compassion, redemption. In truth, Wolf had fallen after she had. However, Wolf had fell into the lake of fire. He suffered in darkness, and his soul was transformed from that of an angelic state, to that of a demonic state. Incautiously, he wanted to open up to his partner. So many things that he wanted to say, but instead-- he embraced her back. His arms wrapped tightly around her waist, his eyes studied her. “Its been such a long time. Shekiah, so many things that I want to tell you.” He hesitated for a moment of time. “What are you doing here?” He could feel his walls beginning to break. She had always been his constant source to confined in. She brought a goodness out in Wolf. Together, they had done so many great things. She was obviously closer to God, the Wolf could have ever been, but she represented everything that Wolf had lost. He could feel her energy. Within only a few seconds, he released his right hand from their embrace. He merely touched her right cheek with his freed hand. “It really is you? Isn’t it?”

we might exist with one foot in the grave. this life ain't over - we still got something to save considering alex's newfound mission in life, which was actually very much the same as her old one, it was ironic for her to have crossed paths with wolf now. she didn't yet know the extent of the world to be done but it was clear that she was meant to be the one to help him. though she'd begun to think that god was throwing the cold shoulder at her, she decided in this moment, that he was still looking out for his daughter. he knew of her love for wolf and while it was the only selfish thing she'd ever awarded herself, the feelings, he still managed to put him back in her path. many people would have told alex that wasn't god's doing at all, that it was fate or the universe or pure coincidence. she knew better. after all, her faith was all she had to cling onto now, even if it was the very thing that had caused her to fall from the skies. even if it was the very thing that left her with two nasty scars on her back, from where her wings had been so painfully clipped. she endured it all because at the end of the day, it was worth it and not believing was not an option.
alex was a smart woman, one who was able to pick up on clues from a situation very easily. many times, she had half the story down about abuse patients who walked into her clinic before they even opened their mouths. and even when they finally did, she was a great listener. her skills as a person were enough to make her damn good at her job. looking over wolf now, though, she felt a little lost. she could sense something within him, something that was very demon-esque. she refused to believe that the man of incredible honor and standing she once knew had turned to the darkness. rather than make that assumption, her gaze met him with a mixture of curiosity and confusion. what had happened to him? alex's great fault of hers had been her sympathy and right now, it was running high. it had been one of the reason she fell and now, it was controlling her emotions whereas wolf was concerned.
there was a hint of surprise as the name greeted her and honestly, she wasn't sure if she wanted to cringe or embrace it. she hadn't been called by her god-given name since she fell from grace, some seventy-something years ago. she'd grown so used to her identity as alex that the other name sounded out-of-place. still, a soft nod was offered as confirmation, the corners of her lips curling into a smile. the nostalgia was hitting her hard, causing a loss of words momentarily. the woman resisted the urge to never let go of his embrace, which was all too tempting. a part of her feared if she let go that wolf would be gone again, forever....or at least for more years again. "my goodness its been so long. i have so many questions for you." first and foremost he could probably guess that she was going to question the dark energy she felt on him, but she wasn't going to press the matter immediately.
"i've been here for some time, wolf. i work out of the hospital down the road...went walking on my break. i usually find some poor lost soul to help here." she teased lightly with the latter part of her sentence, motioning to him jokingly. "i suppose i could pose the same question for you. where have you been all these years?" sure, he fell before her, but there was still a good seventy-five years she'd been on earth without seeing him. to an angel, seventy-five years was nothing, especially in the grand scheme of the world and it's existence. but time hit her as a wiccan, living in a mortal world, a little harder.
all these years on earth and alex had never truly been with another man. she'd accepted a few dates and gone out for drinks but nothing ever felt right. like a puzzle piece with a specific mate, no one fit quite the right way wolf did so she didn't see a point in pushing that further. it was clear eve right now, though, that she felt a little more whole. as his hand brushed her face with such gentleness, she titled her head against it, closing her eyes for a brief moment with a content sigh. "its me." her words were light, filled with happiness. "though it's alexandra now. or alex." it seemed he wasn't the only thing with things to tell. again, sorry for the wait. hope it's okay template by Margie @ Adoxography v2

I've gotta try It's not over yet No signals of love Have you left My heart is bleeding just for you Bleeds for only you
OOC: Sorry it took me so long to reply. I've been super lazy.
The Brethren had given Wolf a knew purpose, although much of that purpose was to forge weapons. To kill off the supernatural realm. So, for Alex to renter into his life, now of all a sudden brought with it many emotions. She was now a white-lighter, and still represented the purity of God. Wolf knew God, better then the Brethren ever could. After all, he had once been an angel himself. He knew that could forgive, even the most destructive crimes. Although to his original created, he was sure that God saw him as a sore spot. He had festered in hell, and changed. Lucifer, had changed Wolf. Of course, the Brethren had purged him of much of his demonic essence. Wolf or his original name had long bee forgotten. Now he answered to only Wolf. As he gazed into her eyes, he felt many emotions. The inner anger, and rage subsided. The flames of destruction simmered. Alex, was Wolf’s exact opposite. She represented all the good in the world. She cared about Humanity, were as Wolf just went through the motions of living. He didn’t have much purpose, or was still searching for a purpose. His travels had brought him to a forth in the road.
If the Brethren found out that he was even talking to a nonhuman, they would kill her on sight. In the name of God? Wasn’t that the purpose of the Brethren, to destroy everything that wasn’t human. Wolf, couldn’t quite agree with those statements. He saw good in the supernatural world, but if he spoke out against the Brethren, they would simply kill him. They used him, for his intelligence. For his weapon crafting abilities. Many of the weapons that they used, had been created by Wolf. As he gazed into her eyes, he stayed silent for a few seconds. He replied, “My life has been a lonely one. A long and challenging road.” All he could feel from Alex, was love. Love was certainly the last thing that he needed at the moment. He glanced into her eyes, and saw something that was missing from his heart. Alex was apart of himself, something that he had long forgotten.
“You’ve made a living for yourself. That does my heart some good.” He held back talking about the Brethren, but hinted towards it. “My life, is complicated.” He softy spoke to her in response to her questioning. Truth be told, he didn’t know how to reply. She would reject him if he answered with full honesty. Something that he wanted to desperately longed for. It was written in his features, he was tried. Tried of all the killing, living a lie. Tried of constantly battling his own inner demons, and for what? To start all over again. He didn’t dare betray the Brethren, or else he would have others after him. He was living as a shell, and not as a person. He continued to look into her eyes, knowing and feeling the love that resided there. He spoke again, with full honesty. “I’m not sure about our father’s plan anymore. I see suffering on a daily basis, and those that abuse our father’s name. I don’t know, what to think or how to react anymore. I’m desperate for change, but don’t know how to obtain it anymore.”
In the past, Alex had always offered a comforting hand. She had always used her grace and conviction to change his opinion. Darkness, however, had crawled into his heart. If they exorcised him any further, it would kill him. He had withstand torture, even in hell. His angelic form had been ripped apart, over and over again. Gradually wearing him down, until his very essence had succumbed to total corruption. His heart went black, and changed forever. He knew deep down inside, he couldn’t ever return back to the point that he wanted too. Heaven, and hell, merely existed around each corner. The devil was very real, but he had been pushed out of heaven because he refused to bow before humanity. His crime, had been loving Alex far to much. That kind of intimacy was seen as a form of lust. The heavens, didn’t understand love. What loved really meant. He had been cast out because of confusion. Angel’s couldn’t sin, and those that did, would be cast out. It often caused Wolf to question his original creator. Yet, still apart of his longed to restore his once lost grace.

we might exist with one foot in the grave. this life ain't over - we still got something to save even though she was disappointed with the turn of events in the world and the punishment she was given, she accepted it. she knew she was to pay for the choices she made, even if they were made for a good purpose. but even through her striking from heaven, alex continued to pray to god on a nearly daily basis. she gave thanks to him for the life she was still able to live, even if it wasn't as an angel in heaven. she even attempted to call out to her brothers and sisters and other former angel colleagues. but all she got in return was radio silence. she wasn't sure if they couldn't hear her or if they chose to ignore the woman. had heaven been destroyed? it would account for all of the wrong in the world and the supernatural flair suddenly in san francisco over the last few months. or was that part of her punishment? completely isolation from everything she once knew.
today, a little hope had sparked within her once more. she'd asked so many times for a sign...or even just some communication. while she looked for the good in each day, it wasn't hard to admit that her faith strayed ever so slightly. but with wolf standing in front of her once more, a part of that had returned to her. she wasn't sure if her father had sent him to her but either way, she viewed it as a gift from the great creator. "i'm sorry wolf. i wish i could have been there for you." her brow furrowed with worry, feeling an ache at his comment. "if only i would have known you were here..." her voice trailed off as she placed the blame on herself. the reality was that neither of them could have known. it had to be a random meeting like this. after all, part of their punishment was to be cast away from everything they once knew. alex and wolf had loved each other more than any angels should have and for that, they were sentenced to eternity apart. something was on her side though, bringing her back into his presence.
a content smile flitted across her lips, feeling color rise in her cheeks. "i merely took this vessel and chose to continue with her work. i'd like to think this is what she would have wanted." the real alexandra hart had perished while trying to help others. alex could not speak for her but she was sure the woman would have approved of the life she was leading. again, some worry wore over her features at the mention of what a troubled life he had lived. it brought her a sense of pain, knowing she was not only apart from him, but that he seemed to have been a part of hardships she couldn't even imagine. "i sense something in you...something that wasn't there before..." she admitted, trying to carefully ease into her words. still, there was no real way to sugarcoat it. "you can tell me if there is something troubling you. i can help you, wolf." she lifted her hand to his cheek, looking deep into the gaze of his that was both the same and different. "i have loved you for thousands of years, wolf. nothing has changed." her words were barely above a whisper, though that hadn't meant they were any less true. perhaps she was just fearful that speaking them louder would mean serious repercussions once more. at his statement alex turned away slightly, holding herself. she didn't want to admit she'd had similar feelings, but the reality was that she had. she loved god and all he had created, but there was no denying flaws in the current plan. the woman thought carefully about her choice in words, in case others had been privvy to the conversation. "i too fear what is happening in this world. it seems as though he is on a hiatus. that has to be it. i can't imagine he would give up on us all." that had to be it; at least, that was the justification she chose. boop template by Margie @ Adoxography v2

I'm staring out into the night, Trying to hide the pain. I'm going to the place where love And feeling good don't ever cost a thing. And the pain you feel's a different kind of pain
Everything was beginning to change for the half-demon. His former, lover and friend had walked back into his life. It was as if God was giving him a second chance. Even in heaven, truth had always been the number one thing that he’d lived for. However, Wolf had changed. His heart was heavy with past regrets. Because, he had chosen Alex over his duty, he had been sent into the lake of fire. Resentment was building up, but Wolf kept in under control. At this moment in time, he was feeling many different emotions. It was her words that sparked his interest. He merely looked down at the women before him. It was hurting him, that she had loved him. That the separation between them had hardened his heart in a certain way. His eyes narrowed on her, and he spoke softly. “Alex, I never stopped loving you. Not for one moment… All these years apart. I missed you…” The words came off of, and he didn’t hide the truth of his feelings. He needed her to know how much, that she mattered to him. She was the first sign of light in total darkness. The Brethren had stolen a scared part of him. Even with new purpose, Wolf’s life had been a lonely one. He was practically a stranger to his own team.
Gently, he placed his hand back on her right cheek. Warmth radiated from his palm. Softly he spoke, and focused on her. He said, “I’ll tell you everything. Just don’t leave me alone. Being alone, is unbearable. It’s an agony, far worse then facing death.” He whispered toward the end of his sentence, “Father can’t take me away from you, not this time.” Carefully, he wrapped both arms around her waist, and gently pulled them both into an embrace. His eyes shutting as he embraced her into his arms. For a moment, just for a moment he had to know that this was real. That he wasn’t dreaming in some far away land. Distance hadn’t changed him all that much. Sure, he still had moments of rage that came on suddenly, but with Alex, he felt only regret. Regret for the lives that he had taken, in the name of the Brethren. Gently, he kissed her forehead. For a moment he lingered, before his eyes settled on her own.
He could completely lose himself in her. She balanced him out very well. When, he was unsure about the ways of the world, he had looked to her for guidance and strength. Even in heaven, they had completed each other. God, had created them at the same time. It was purpose, that they had been paired together. God had kept them together. They had been meant to severe as guardians, between the dead and living. Together, the had brought souls into the gates of heaven. However, that meant that Wolf saw souls cast into hell as well. It was a dual sided purpose. They, were the guardians of the dead. Wolf had done his job, extremely well. Because of him, he had gained favoritism amongst his fellow angels.
However, War was on the horizon. All of the chaos, and everyone was swept into it. The lycans were killing vampires by the dozens. Not to also mention that the seven deadly sins walked amongst mankind. Demon activity had skyrocketed. It was as if God was being extremely judgmental on mankind. The very thing, that he and Alex had swore to protect. Now his precious humans, were being slaughtered. God wasn’t doing anything to correct the problems. All of the chaos and trouble, and he barely lifted a finger to correct the problem. Wolf, it least had to think his father was testing them. He sighed softly, and never let his gaze fall from Alex. He knew that she would be the one to understand him as best as anyone could. She would take the time to listen, and not be judgmental. Even in heaven, she had been his consort. She always had time to listen to Wolf. It was one of the greatest traits that she had bestowed upon him.
He closed both eyes, and breathed in her scent. It was clean, and still had a purity to it. Something that she hadn’t lost. On the other hand, a certain darkness clung to Wolf. He couldn’t deny that his time in hell had changed him. A corruption lingered on him, but at the hands of the Brethren, a part of his demon essence had been stripped away, leaving him with a certain amount of humanity, and restored grace. Anything more would kill him. He didn’t want to die. With mortality, came the unsettling fears of death. In fact, he was afraid that his death would send him back into the lake of fire. He couldn’t burn again, not again. After accomplishing everything that he had. The price was far to high. He was a fallen angel, like her. Gently he spoke again. “Maybe, just maybe one day will see home again. For now, my home is here in this moment.”

we might exist with one foot in the grave. this life ain't over - we still got something to save alex was certainly not guiltless in the matter of loving wolf. unfortunately, however, he'd been the one to take the fall for their misguided actions. her own casting from heaven was caused by a separate matter, though her previous indiscretion made no help in her case. their kind were forbidden from falling in love and instead, had to be driven by glorious purpose for the good of the world. frankly, alex didn't see a reason why she couldn't do both. she was a loyal daughter of god and she had plenty of room in heart to love him, the mortals, as well as wolf. and that's just what she did. her only measure of guilt was that wolf had solely suffered for something she had taken part in as well. seeing him before her now, she felt it her duty to dedicate as much time to helping him get wherever he needed to be now. "wolf..." her words trailed off as he spoke to her, clearly filled with such endearment for the man. even just hearing the few simple words warmed her heart. "i promise you we won't be apart again." and anyone who knew alex knew she was a woman of her word.
his touch was enough to comfort her. and honestly, she hadn't even known she was hurting until the moment he was here, relieving her pain. she'd buried her desire and love for wolf, busying herself with her work. the moment she laid eyes upon him it returned to her...only furthering when she felt the troubled sense within him. but all it took was his touch, warm and strong and familiar, to chase away any negativity. her problems weren't solved but with him in the picture, they at least seemed bearable. alex offered a nod, pressuring him for information no further. "cliche as it sounds, we were brought together again for a reason. i won't spoil that. i won't leave you." before she knew it, she was being pulled into his embrace and of course, she did nothing to fight it. she buried her face into his chest, feeling completely encompassed in safety and love in that moment. she spent so much time caring for others that here and now, it felt good to be a little selfish.
alexandra had always been an intelligent woman, both the original and the angel hosted in the body. though she was taking simply pleasures in the comfort of someone very dear to her, her mind was already quick at work. she began to hash out details of how to help wolf, depending on whatever it was that was wrong with him. and of course, she knew they'd have to conceal their togetherness in some manner. she'd never hide her love for the man, just as she hadn't so many years ago. perhaps if they had, they wouldn't have been cast from the heavens. but she was an honest woman too, always intent on making things right. whatever she needed to do now, she'd do it. it was a difficult time for the world but she was a fantastic multitasker, with the ability to find optimism in any dark situation. she was certainly a ray of light.
in comparison to wolf, alex was quite small. she was the innocent lamb and he the ferocious lion. yet neither were truly as they seemed, for he was kind and gentle and she was bold and brave. they were quite the pair, both physically and emotionally and what no one had ever expected. she poised herself on tiptoes as her arms wrapped around his neck, straining to reach his lips to plant a kiss there. she wanted so much more from in that moment but refrained from selfish desires, instead, drawing back momentarily to listen to his words. as much as she wanted to escape in that moment and forget about the issues in the world, she knew she couldn't. that wasn't in her nature. "home will be wherever you are." simple but true. she could make earth, among the mortals, her home so long as he was at her side. sorry for the rambling template by Margie @ Adoxography v2

If only night could hold you, where i can see you, my love Then let me never ever wake again And maybe tonight, we'll fly so far away We'll be lost before the dawn
Everything was right in front of him. His entire existence was returning to him. Wolf, had to admit, it felt good to be reunited with the one person that knew him inside and out. Alex, knew everything about Wolf. She had always seen the good inside of people. Even after suffering punishment in hellfire, Wolf was still as compassionate and gentle as he had been in the heavens. Loving her, in such intimate ways had gotten him cast from the heavens. In truth, Wolf understood that duty and vigilance came first. It was expected of all angels. They had to put their respective purposes before mental, and physical emotions. For his actions, father had punished him from the heavens. Wolf had been a strange angel, compared to others. Mortals had been given freewill, but so had the angels. Still, on the other hand. If any of the angels thought for themselves, or question his father’s plan-- then they, themselves would be cast out. Lucifer, had stepped up to his beloved father, because he refused to bow before the humans that he had created. One-third of the angels had been cast out of the heavens, along with Lucifer. Rules had existed for a reason. However, Wolf had also questioned his father’s grand design.
Even in hell, he clung to whatever goodness remained in his heart. Despite the madness and corruption of his very essence, something remained. It was merely a spark, but light still existed. After all, Wolf had brought souls to the final resting place. Between heaven and hell, he wasn’t exempted from either. When he got the chance to return back to earth, he took it upon himself to secure his freedom. Then the Brethren found him. He had been supplying weapons to the supernatural community. Even demons considered him to be impure, because a goodness lingered his heart. The Brethren stripped away most of his demonic essence, and relit the light that had dwelled inside of him. It was like a candle, a beacon that called out to those like him. However, he was merely a tool for the Brethren to use. His intelligence, and crafty nature. He switched teams. As long as he filled his tasks, they would leave him alone.
When Alex kissed him, he closed both eyes for a moment. It was everything that he had remembered. Her arms wrapping around his neck, the feel of her against him was enough to make him feel free. Freedom, after all is exactly what he wanted. To be rid of his shackles. To be unbroken, after he had been broken into shards. He was more broken then he’d like to admit. Alex could physically, and mentally sense it. He was half the man that he had once been in heaven. As she finished talking, he gently rested his right hand against the right portion of her cheek. Wolf, was physically stronger-- and taller in height over Alex. Calmly, he spoke, “Alex, I was enslaved to the Brethren…” He hesitated, and glanced away from her eyes, shame and pain clearly visible in his eyes. He hated was he was doing. Other supernatural creatures had a right to live. Wolf, didn’t mind killing those that deliberately hunted down humans, but for the most part-- many of the supernatural species tried living in balance with the mortal realm. The outcome was pretty obvious, Wolf was shackled to the Brethren. He spoke again, shame clearly in his voice, “They exorcised me. Leaving me mentally, and physically mortal.” They had succeeded in stripping away his demonic characteristics. He continued to speak, “My purpose from them, was to forge weapons.”
The truth was now out, but he didn’t feel any better. If anything, the truth was bittersweet. He wasn’t going to shed any tears, but even a strong person such as wolf was susceptible to guilt. His entire life had been forged around guilt. In hell, he had slaughtered souls as punishment, once he stopped burning in the fires. He gave in, and his very soul was twisted. Even after becoming a demon, he hated the thing that he saw in mirror. It represented something that had been spiritually contorted. Wolf was barely himself, and he knew that Alex could sense it. She was the purity that he had lost. After all, she had been cast out of heaven, but didn’t see the lake of fire. She still had her grace. Momentarily, he glanced back at Alex and spoke, his voice only a whisper, “Do you think I can redeem myself?” If anyone, Alex was already coming up with answers to the current situation.
He the relationship that would blossom between them, would be forbidden. In the biblical sense, they could be compared to Adam and Eve. Both had flourished in the garden of Eden, but Eve at the forbidden fruit, after being tempted by the devil. Although this was far from the truth. The devil-- Lucifer didn’t tempt people. He made deals, but never tempted people. It was through Lucifer and his rebellion that lead to the formation of the sins, and the four horsemen. Hell was Lucifer’s domain. Wolf, was in a weird position. He was literally caught between the light and darkness. He was a walking contradiction, and unorthodox creation. In many ways, he hated what he was. He was literally walking the line between worlds. Not exactly a demon, but not human either. He didn’t belong to either world. The demons rejected him, and his fellow humans saw something that didn’t belong in the mortal world. He it least had hoped that Alex would understand his position. Softly he whispered, “I’m so sorry…”
