Katharos, Meeting, ELIJAH CORVUS
lyrics @ Lana Del Rey. notes – words - 860ish
In the Land of Gods and Monsters
I was an Angel
The world will burn under the flames of their lord, the impurities of all mortals, beast, and spirit will be cleansed and only the pure may survive. The cult of Helios will rise again and their Lord of Flame will rise as the mighty Phoenix to lay waste upon their enemies and those who oppose them. Even if people oppose their ideas and belief, yet cause no ill-will they will still burn because there will be no oppression to a power that will show its dominance. Katharos Mavrosi has been the high priestess of the cult since the ancient Greek times as she was the one who created the idea, when her Lord came to her in her dreams and laid with her. Lord Helios wanted her to help cleanse the world of all those impure and find his champion that will deliver everyone from evil making the world worship Helios and his strength as the new god.
Katharos had been doing that very thing since she founded the Phoenix Order, trying to find the savior was a very daunting task, especially when the Greek empire fell and many of the cultists with it. At first the Phoenix Order was strong and held its grip on the people like an iron gauntlet, burning all those who were against them and leaving only those who worship Helios alive. Although, when Greece fell many people believed the Grecian divine had forsaken them, leaving them to die from the clutches of Roman cruelty. The Romans took over and converted many of the Grecian people, including the cultists of Helios, making them worship the Roman lord of the sun, Apollo, but Katharos was not so easily swayed to betray her lord.
Katharos continued her search in finding the savior of Helios, he was pure, a virgin, and died, yet lived underneath the sun’s embrace. The Red Lady had looked far and wide throughout Greece, before taking her journey to roam where she found her promised savior to be in a slave of the Roman Empire. Gladiators were fierce fighters, who fought for their freedom from Roman slavery, even though it was not guaranteed as it was only mere entertainment to the Roman nobles. Katharos actually connected with the Roman gladiators, she shared their pain as being held in torment of slavery, and she wanted to burn the entire Roman Legion and set free of the gladiators, but she had only one mission and her revenge will feast from that. Katharos watched Elijah Corvus, who fought fiercely, before being stabbed in the chest, and left for the dead as the arena erupted into a large roar. When Katharos looked at Elijah she saw something in him that sets him apart from everyone else, so she followed where the guards were keeping the fallen. Elijah say upon a slab where he would be examined by one of the doctors from Rome to check if he was actually dead, though Katharos got there in time to retrieve Elijah for herself.
The High Priestess saw that he was still alive, she sensed his soul was still clinging for life, and that told her that he was the one. He who lives after death, immediately, she had him removed, posing as the doctor/inspector, which didn’t last long as she had to tempt a soldier into letting leave. Katharos took Elijah to one of the abandoned temples to Helios, where there was a secret corridor, and laid him down on a table. The Red Lady began to perform her ritual, she used her necromantic abilities to bring back Elijah’s soul, when he died, then immediately after she had his body preserved, so when it was time for him to awake he would remain himself. Although, Katharos wasn’t able to see him awake as a Roman cavalry removed her from the temple and separated her from Elijah’s body as they were going to kill her when they were to arrive to the Roman city for treason of the Roman gods. Although, before they could get far Katharos used her abilities and burned the entire cavalry to the ground, she stepped out the fire, unburned and unscathed, before taking a horse and was off to find Elijah.
Sadly, to this day she has yet to find her promised savior, and many have risen since his absence, but Katharos knew them not to be the promised as each one died and never returned. Today, Katharos stood calmly in the Muir woods, still wearing her traditional red linens, and her jeweled choker around her neck. The moon was out and she could hear the howling of a wolf nearby as she awaited its presence, her eyes glowed red signaling her power was rising to defend herself. There was no reason for Katharos to be outside at this time of night, but she had some compelling reason that she was supposed to be there, so there she was.Living in the Garden
