----A Walk in the Forest----

Serenity walked slowly, making her way towards the denser part of the forest slowly. Not that she couldn't get there rather quickly is she cared to bother. She wasn't planning to do anything there. She wan't planning on doing anything where she was either. She may as well walk and try to avoid boredom. Unfortunately, boredom was a void that was content to suck her in. She did not, however, show that as she took a slow stroll through the forest, listening to the birds and the other forest animals. Serenity, Serenity, how did you ever end up here? It wasn't even that long ago that you yourself were o the hunt for other vampires. Now your strolling through the woods, trying to avoid those that you sought out. she thought to herself. If only her adoptive mother were here. She always seemed to know what to do. Interacting with these other vampires seemed so easy when she was protected. When she wasn't even a vampire herself. Serenity held back a tear and picked up the pace. She was less likely to meet others the denser the forest she was in. She flicked back her long black hair and pulled away a vine that fell in front of her. She looked around, her light blue eyes light against the dark sky. She hated it. Never would she like to go hunting with other vampires. They always tried to kill the humans that they found. There was a rustling in the forest. Serenity shrugged it off. It was probably just a bird or a rabbit. She continued walking, now more alert of her surroundings. There was another rustle. She shook her head and sped up to a steady trot. She got into the denser forest rather quickly and paused in a tangle of bushes. The hairs on the back of her neck stood on end. someone was out there. They had to be. Serenity shook her head again and started running frantically. If it was a lycan than she would be in trouble. If it was a mortal she would have to resist. If it was another vampire she would have to be shy. The only thing she could comfortably do was outrun them. So that's what she tried. She paused once the forest got too dense, squeezing between two last trees before pausing to listen again. There was another rustle. She gave up the run and turned around. "Who's there?" She was just about to leave when she saw what was making the rustling sounds. A calico kitty stepped through the forest. "Why, hello there. What are you doing all the way out here alone?" The cat paused for a moment, but continued it's advance. "Come kitty kitty." She said as the cat climbed over a log. It responded rather well, climbing through the forest into her lap. Serenity put out her hand for the kitty to inspect. The calico cat dipped its head under her hand. Serenity carefully petted the cat, not wanting to scare it. "Well what are you doing out here on your own?" she asked, checking its neck for a collar. It didn't have one. She petted the cat slowly, making sure it was happy. She had only wanted to get to the denser forests, and she had arrived. No need to just leave. |
