Hecate, Meeting, @open
lyrics @ Lana Del Rey. notes – words - 750ish
In the Land of Gods and Monsters
I was an Angel
Hecate stood over her counter with her hands spread apart on the countertop as she looked frustrated at her book of Gede as she tries to override the curse the Grand Coven placed on her. For years, the three-hundred year-old voodooist was trapped to stay in the vicinity of her shop and for years she has been trying to void that spell the original witches placed on her, but nothing is easy when it comes to those brunette headed wannabe harry potters. The Grand Coven doesn’t like anything they cannot control such as dark magic or voodooism as that was not there creation, but another witch’s creation. The Grand Coven outlawed voodoo because it came be a dark practice that they do not want too many witches having the possession of, but Hecate is from a family that came from Barbados and voodoo was a prominent practice during her time three-hundred years ago.
Hecate flipped a braid behind her back as she stared at her black book, the book that Hecate possess is found only in her shop, she found the black book of Gede when she was in Barbados and it is said to hold the world’s strongest voodoo, although the Grand Coven doesn’t know that. Hecate doesn’t intend on telling the Grand Coven anything about the book she possesses because no doubt they will try and take it from her. The Grand Coven doesn’t understand the power and the range of voodoo magic as Hecate can take it as far as the person, meaning no matter how far the person is the spell will work, at least will still have some effect. When Hecate casts a spell, she casts it with great precision and she takes time in her craft because magic is not an easy thing to do, especially the dark arts, but she does thank her god of voodoo and death, Gede for the deal he gave her all those centuries ago.
Gede in Barbadian culture is the god of voodoo, but he is actually another form of the Devil or Lucifer to the Christians. Both aspects of Gede, Hecate respects and she is one of the many witches that are devoted to him, hell even the Grand Coven had to confess their souls to possess the power they have now, so they are nothing special in Hecate’s eyes. It is safe to say Hecate dislikes the Grand Coven for everything they stand for, mostly because they are hypocrites for wanting witches to blossom in the power of magic, but at the same time limits them from there great purposes as masters of magic. Hecate was mostly punished for her rebellious attitude towards the Grand Coven and not doing the magic they wanted or envisioned. Hecate rolled her eyes as she flipped a page in her book,” Damn de coven,” Hecate continued,” Only Gede knows when I get mi hands around dey pixie necks…”Living in the Garden
